Description
Victorian Game Bird Cufflinks with Hunting Dog & Trout
- An exceptional pair of double sided hunting cufflinks with the subjects en relief. There are four hunting scenes showing a pointer dog, a pheasant, a brown trout and a snipe. All are beautifully enamelled within a setting of green enamel reeds and foliage. Mounted on 18 carat yellow gold with figure of eight connecting links. Hallmarked with 18ct stamp.
- This is the best example of hunting themed cufflinks I have seen because of the exquisite detail of the subjects and the high quality enamelling. It is also unusual to find the subjects en relief. A very special pair of antique cufflinks indeed!
- Face measures 21mm x 14mm.
- Late 19th century, English circa 1890.
